Privacy Policy

for the Lasga Browser Extension

Lasga is built with privacy as a foundational principle. The extension operates entirely on your device and never sends any personal data, browsing history, or tab information to external servers. This policy explains what permissions Lasga uses and how your information is handled across all supported browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera).

1. Data Collection and Usage

Lasga does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. All processing—including reading tab URLs, filtering tabs, closing tabs, copying URLs, and extracting links from your clipboard—happens locally on your device.

No analytics, tracking scripts, databases, or external services are used. We cannot see which websites you visit, the URLs you copy, or how you use the extension.

2. Required Permissions and Why They Are Needed

The following permissions are required for Lasga to function. Each is used strictly for its intended purpose and no additional data is accessed:

  • "tabs" — Allows the extension to read URLs of your open tabs and close them when requested. Lasga does not access page content or browsing history.
  • "storage" — Used to save your extension settings (window scope, protocol filters, domain filters, theme preference) locally on your device.
  • "scripting" — Injects brief, non-persistent scripts into the current tab to display confirmation toasts. These scripts do not collect data.
  • "commands" — Enables global keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl+Shift+Y, Ctrl+Shift+U, etc.
  • "notifications" — Used only when an in-page toast notification cannot be displayed due to page restrictions (e.g., CSP).
  • "clipboardWrite" — Allows Lasga to copy collected tab URLs to your clipboard when you use the "Copy" or "Copy & Close" actions.
  • "clipboardRead" — Required for the “Open from Clipboard” feature. Lasga reads text from your clipboard only when you explicitly trigger this action. Nothing is stored or transmitted.
  • "offscreen" — Enables clipboard operations in the background, as required by modern extension architectures (Manifest V3) on Chromium-based browsers.
  • "host_permissions (<all_urls>)" — Allows Lasga to access tab URLs across all domains when you choose the “All Windows” scope. Lasga does not read page content, cookies, passwords, forms, or internal data—only the tab URL.

3. Data Security

Since Lasga performs all actions locally and does not transmit data anywhere, your information never leaves your device. No personal or browsing data is collected, saved, or shared.

Lasga has no server backend, no analytics, and no external communication of any kind.

4. Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect improvements to Lasga or changes to browser extension requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the extension after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
